The Year I Become an Internet Meme
aka It's Birthday #67. Want to Help Me Party?
Hey! Birthday number 67 today. Which I guess makes me a both a youthful, hip, viral slang term and internet meme worthy.
So feel like celebrating that with me? Because I’m selfishly angling for a birthday gift from you – a donation to City of Good, a nonprofit I co-founded to help feed our community where gaps exist in the food system.
And an anonymous donor will MATCH your donation today (and tomorrow).
Here’s what your birthday gift to me will help us do.
City of Good provides support to our local farmers and ranchers by purchasing their surplus produce and meat. That’s a win.
We then distribute that local food – along with healthy, restaurant-prepared “weekend fuel kits” – to kids in need at Boise School District community elementary schools and the Interfaith Sanctuary Homeless Shelter.

We do the same for low-income senior citizens who are often forgotten.
We also have a program that stocks school food pantries with fresh produce and culturally appropriate shelf-stable goods for those from different cultures and new to America.
But wait – I haven’t even told you about our MOBILE MARKET that serves the community by motoring to economically diverse neighborhoods and ensuring equitable access to local food for ALL Boise residents.

We even launched a “Pay What You Choose” model for the mobile market that allows people to pay any price for fresh, local produce with no questions asked – the FIRST program of this nature anywhere in the country as far as we can tell.

Big bang for your birthday buck, people!
It doesn’t take much to help me celebrate today. $10 - $25 - $100 or more!
Let’s call it a “Donate What You Are Able” kind of gift. 😉
If you’re able to help, you can do that here.
Godspeed, friend.
